I refer to the Prime Minister’s statement, which was reported in Malaysiakini today, as to the Whereabouts of 1MDB linked controversial businessman Jho Low.

As a Malaysian and NGO leader, I strongly support and back the intentions of the Prime Minister to apprehend Jho Low and recover the ‘stolen duit rakyat’ from him.
And in my capacity as a Malaysian and a NGO leader, I would like to extend a little helping hand to this very noble attempt by our Prime Minister.
I would like to bring forth a very important point, which I am pretty sure will assist and abet the efforts of our Prime Minister to locate Jho Low and recover the ‘stolen amount’ from him, to the Prime Minister’s attention. A point our Prime Minister may have missed on a hindsight.
In an article published in The Star on the 1st of November 2014, it was explicitly stated that Jho Low’s involvement in 1MDB begun before former premier Najib took helm as the Prime Minister,
Jho Low was appointed as a special adviser to the Sultan of Terengganu and the-then Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin to help set up Terengganu Investment Authority (TIA).
For the record, Jho Low was involved in the setting up of TIA from January 2009 to mid-May 2009.
This is a crucial point to take note as it was the aforementioned TIA which was later rechristened as the controversial 1MDB that we have to know today.
Therefore, instead of harping about Jho Low or counting on the Interpol to nab him, wouldn’t it be a good idea to consult Sultan Mirzan about Jho Low?
This is something that no one has attempted to do till today from the time the 1MDB controversy came to light. Why no attempts were made to indulge the expertise of Sultan Mirzan to locate Jho Low remains a mystery till today.
After all, it was the Sultan who appointed Jho Low and as such, I am sure His Majesty would be equally keen to assist the Prime Minister in his attempts to bring this rogue back and most importantly, recover all the monies he allegedly had stolen from us.
I hope the Prime Minister would take note of this and act accordingly.
I trust the wisdom of our Prime Minister a 100%.
